Gain Freedom from BFRBS

Compassionate Support Tailored to Your Needs
Our therapy approach is focused on partnering with you to break free from Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs). We understand how overwhelming and isolating these behaviors can feel, but you don’t have to face them alone. Together, we’ll create a safe, non-judgmental space to understand your patterns, develop effective strategies to manage urges, and take meaningful steps toward regaining control and living in alignment with your values.

Effective Treatments for BFRBs
Our clinicians have specialized training in evidence-based treatments for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), Comprehensive Behavioral (ComB) model, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Whether you’re struggling with hair pulling, skin picking, or other repetitive behaviors, we are equipped to help you understand your triggers, manage urges, and regain a sense of control. Treatment often includes developing awareness of patterns, practicing competing responses, addressing underlying emotions or beliefs that maintain the behavior, and building effective coping and emotion regulation skills so you can re-engage with the things that matter most to you.

What are BFRBs?
Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) are self-grooming behaviors that result in damage to the body, such as hair pulling, skin picking, nail or cheek biting. These behaviors often develop as a way to manage stress, anxiety, boredom, or uncomfortable sensations—but over time, they can become distressing and difficult to control. Many people with BFRBs feel shame or frustration, yet these behaviors are not a sign of weakness or lack of willpower. With the right support and evidence-based treatment, recovery is absolutely possible.
Common BFRBs We Treat:

Hair pulling (Trichotillomania)

Skin picking (Excoriation Disorder/Dermatillomania)

Frequently Asked Questions
What is your availability?
We offer appointments Monday-Friday and currently on weekends, during morning, afternoon, and evening hours.
What are the fees?
Please reach out for more information on rates. Payment is due at the time of the appointment.
Do you accept insurance?
Our services are private pay and we are considered out-of-network providers. Many people with out-of-network coverage can receive full or partial reimbursement for the cost of sessions through their health insurance. The amount covered will depend on the insurance plan. After each session, we can provide you with a document, called a “superbill” that has all of the necessary information required to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
How do I know if I have out-of-network coverage and if so, how does it work?
You can call your insurance company to inquire about your specific coverage and reimbursement. Here are some helpful questions to ask:
-
Do I have out-of-network coverage?
 -
If so, is there an annual deductible? Have I met it? If no, how much has been met?
 -
What percentage do you cover for out-of-network mental health providers?
 -
Is there a maximum amount you reimburse per visit or per year?
 -
Is there a claim form that I must use to submit for reimbursement?
 -
How much time do I have to submit a claim after my session?
 -
Do I need a pre-authorization? If so, how do I obtain it?
